A surprise update has brought the Vampire Survivors Android port we all wanted. The super addictive indie gem is now available at Google Play in full glory.
Everything that has the PC version has the Vampire Survivors Android port, and it’s free to play with ads.
This will be devastating news for anyone hoping to be productive today. The compulsion to grab your phone and slay demons will be hard to put off until the weekend.
An instant classic that’s simple, but not easy
Vampire Survivors is a game that is quite simple in its concept. All kinds of ghosts and spirits have crept out of hell. There are thousands of them and they are going to kill you. How long that takes and how much you take it down all depends on how well you play.
Staying alive in Vampire Survivors is easy to learn, but hard to master. Operation is very simple. All you have to do is move your character around the map, while attacks happen automatically.
You earn gems by killing enemies, and you use the gems to level up and choose from a list of random buffs. Killing bosses allows you to evolve your weapons into more powerful forms – you need those too.
The game every indie developer wants to make
It’s one of the most riveting times known to man, although Vampire Survivors is also a great indie success story. The game was developed by the solo developed Luca Galante, also known as Poncle.
Poncle made the game on a shoestring budget, but this didn’t immediately grab the attention of gamers. It shows that high-fidelity graphics are no substitute for solid loop.
The roaring success of Vampire Survivors has seen Poncle grow into a small but fully-fledged studio, which is probably one of the reasons why we get nice surprises like the Android port of Vampire Survivors.
