This is the most popular Solitaire variant and the best way to play it

You would be amazed at how many different versions of Solitaire there are.

Five? Don’t be ridiculous. Fifty? Not even close. 250? Double it. And then add some more.

But if we’re honest, there’s only one version of Solitaire. And it’s called Klondike.

That’s the one that used to come for free with Microsoft Windows, and it’s the version you can now play for free play-solitaire.com.

If you’ve lived in a cave, Klondike will see you trying to sort a shuffled deck of 52 cards into their respective suits, in numerical order.

These cards are divided into seven piles, the first consists of one card and the seventh consists of seven. You can probably figure out what happens to the rest.

The top card on each of these piles is face up, and your goal is to first create sequences consisting of alternating suits (e.g. 6 of diamonds, 7 of spades, 8 of diamonds, 9 of clubs, 10 of hearts, etc.), and then to sort each card by color and number at the top of the screen.

Patience required

It’s harder than it sounds. In fact, you wouldn’t stand a chance if the waste mountain wasn’t there. You can draw one or three cards at a time from this pile in hopes of uncovering a useful card.

Even then, you need to focus and think tactically to come out on top.

Practice makes perfect, and play-solitaire.com is our favorite place to spend a few hours. Why? Because it comes with a comprehensive set of features, detailed tracking and it’s completely free.

Play-solitaire.com allows you to change the background and design of the cards you play with. Of course it does. Even more impressive, you can also choose between left-handed and right-handed deals, and it features a generous hint system.

But that is not everything. Play-solitaire.com has the most detailed data logging we’ve ever seen in a Klondike game.

At the touch of a button, you can see how many games you’ve played, how many you’ve won, your longest winning streak, your best time, and a host of other states.

Play-solitaire.com is the complete package and you can now play it for free. A mobile version is also in the works – so stay tuned!
