The Alliance Alive Android port released in English

The Alliance Alive Android port has been released and mobile gamers finally get a chance to enjoy a rather underappreciated gem of JPRG history. The port is available through Google Playand costs £9.99 / $11.99, although for the price you get to enjoy a full experience and quite a few hours of adventure.

Charming despite gloomy surroundings

The original version of The Alliance Alive was released in 2017 for the 3DS. An HD remaster was released for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in the coming years. Last year, the Alliance Alive Android version got a release in Japan, but only now have we gotten an English port.

The port gets the HD Remaster, with its nicer sprites and textures, so it’s more or less what you’d get on a PC or console.

Powerful creatures called daemons long ago invaded the world where the Alliance Alive takes place. They split up the world, with barriers separating empires, and began a tyrannical rule over society.

This chaos has devastated the climate and the sky has been dark and gloomy for centuries. In this world, humans are the lowest in society, among daemons and beastmen.

Somewhat quirky mechanics

You take command of some members of a resistance group, who are trying to resist the rule of the daemons and their beast minions. They also hope to bring blue skies back to their country.

The gameplay is what you would expect from JPRGs, with a few twists. The combat system is turn-based, but characters have no levels. Instead, they earn points that can be used to buy skills.

There’s a large, free-roaming world map to explore and plenty of content to experience. If you like old style JRPGs, it might be worth your time and money.
