Sims 5 Mobile Port Confirmed Through Playtest Leaks

A real Sims game is coming to phones with The Sims 5 mobile. After years of waiting for a real version of the series on mobile, EA and Maxis are finally bringing the next day-and-date feature article to mobile.

Following news that EA’s Skate would also launch on phones, The Sims 5’s mobile port is another part of the company’s wearable push. Will this be a huge generation for EA on mobile?

Through GamingonPhone, the next-gen Sims game has begun playtesting across multiple platforms. While the game is nowhere near a release, private testing has begun for the upcoming social simulator title.

An early depiction of the game showed a mobile version of the game. However, this has now been confirmed through sources helping with the game’s testing. This means that the mobile version is not just a cloud version, but an actual release.

Currently, the game’s playtest is known only as Project Rene. However, it will likely only be known as The Sims 5 when it actually releases. On the other hand, it could be called something like The Sims: Infinity if EA wants this to be a “10 year plan” game.

Nevertheless, the game will be available on seemingly every possible platform. Like Skate, this new title aims to get a huge audience on any device. This means that the new game will probably also be free to play.

Playtests are still ongoing for this untitled Sims title, and are expected to continue for a long time to come. With no release date planned, we can expect the game to run for a few more years.

With this in mind, it will be a long wait for The Sims 5 mobile to come out. Isn’t that disappointing?
