Perfect Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports released in time for 25th anniversary

The classic Fallout games are some of the best CRPG games out there. Just in time for the 25th anniversary of the series, perfect Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports have been released by a brilliant fan.

The best Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports

Released on the google play store, a new launcher for the classic Fallout games is now available. The launcher, called fo2.exe, is capable of launching GOG versions of both Fallout 1 and 2 on Android phones.

Earlier this year, a Fallout 2 port was recently released on mobile. However, this version of the game has much better controls. For example, there’s now a button to switch cursor type instead of tapping the screen for minutes.

In addition, fo2.exe works great on a number of devices. Even on a huge Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, the new port starts the game flawlessly with perfect screen sizes. It is truly beautiful.

While the Google Play Store listing claims that it only supports the GOG versions of the games, fans claim that the Steam games work just fine too. However, you need a legal copy of the game to play on your phone.

With official Fallout 1 and 2 Android ports seemingly not coming from Bethesda, this is the best we’re going to get. Do we mind? Hell no, these are perfect versions of some of gaming’s best releases.

At the time of writing, there is no mod support. However, it is enough for us to play these games on mobile in an enjoyable way.

Fallout Tactics is coming

In a Reddit thread, the developer of the port dev360deg explained that there are plans for more translation projects in the future. After the release of these two ports, the developer will move on to the next game in the series: Fallout Tactics.

If that port is of the same level of quality as this one, we’re very excited about this developer’s future projects. We can’t help but wonder: what comes next?
