iPhone 14 yet to be launched, but know what the iPhone 15 camera may look like!

Apple iPhone 14 is yet to be launched, but tipsters have just revealed something about iPhone 15 camera!

Apple iPhone 13, the latest lineup launched by Apple is still not off the discussion table yet and most eyes are scanning the horizon about news of iPhone 14 launch in 2022, but amazingly, Internet rumor mills are already raging about iPhone 15 camera! A recent report by Macrumors quoting analyst Jeff Pu as suggesting that the iPhone 15 camera is expected to feature a periscope system which may make its debut in 2023, an year after iPhone 14 launch.

The iPhone 15 variant concerned is the iPhone 15 Pro. One of the three cameras on it will use a periscope lens and this will allow an awesome 10 times optical zoom – much more than the 3 times optical zoom offered by the latest iPhone 13 Pro models and possibly significantly more than what the rumored iPhone 14 Pro series will bring to its cameras later this year, analyst Jeff Pu leaks suggested.

What is Periscope Lens that may be slated for the iPhone 15 Pro?

In the Periscope Lens, the light entering the iPhone’s telephoto lens on the back would be reflected by an angled mirror placed towards the camera’s image sensor with a periscope system. This change in the direction of the light will allow Apple to accommodate a longer telephoto lens inside the iPhone, letting users zoom in closer without any blur, the report further suggested. Though, the periscope lens mechanism is not new. We already have seen periscope lenses in Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Huawei P40 Pro+, which feature 10 times optical zoom.

Since early 2020, we all have been listening to the rumors about the iPhone with a periscope lens have been circulating when renowned analyst for iPhones Ming-Chi Kuo was the first who suggested that there is a possibility of a periscope lens. However, Kuo had mentioned that the periscope lens will be included in the iPhone 14 Pro, but with the recent update, it seems like that we will have to wait for the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro in the next year.

Besides periscope lens involvement in iPhone 15, there are rumors that iPhone 15 will ditch the physical SIM card slot and will completely feature eSIM technology for connectivity, GSM Arena report suggested. If this is true, then the tech giant will take a huge step towards a portless iPhone.
