Kakao Games has announced that its hugely popular mobile gacha game Guardian Tales will team up with Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai in South Korea on December 29, 2022, with the global release scheduled for January 10, 2023.
This is only the second collaboration with Guardian Tales to date and will be available until February 7, 2022. The first collaboration with Guardian Tales saw the gacha game team up with Slayers NEXT, an iconic anime from the 90s.
It contained two short stories, featuring characters such as Lina Inverse, Xellos, and Gourry Gabriev. The plot took you on their journey as they suddenly arrived through a gorge in Kanterbury.
What characters will be available in the Guardian Tales Dragon Quest collaboration?
In this collaboration, you can play as three of the main characters from Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai. These characters are:
- Maam – martial artist
- Popp – Magician
- Dai – Hero
It contains a short story in two parts. Dai, Maam and Popp find themselves in the world of Kanterbury after going through a strange portal. The plot of the short story covers their journey as they try to find a way back home.
You can claim Maam as a reward for cooperation, including her equipment.
What else to expect in the collaboration
After you complete the co-op, you’ll be given plenty of resources that will help you evolve Maam into a five-star hero. You can also upgrade her weapon to the highest level of Limit Break. The developer listed on the official announcement page that more news about the upcoming event will be announced soon.
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is a manga and anime, making it perfect for a Guardian Tales collaboration. It’s important to note that you can only get these three characters during the event, so be sure to join them as soon as possible.
While Maam is available as a free reward, you can get Popp and Dai through the summon mechanic. You can also get the co-op heroes and their weapons by using 200 co-op mile tickets. You can find this function in the Collaboration Pick-Up Summon menu.
