The next major expansion for miHoYo’s Genshin Impact is on the way. But when will the Gensin Impact 3.0 update come and what can we expect in the beloved gacha game?
Genshin Impact 3.0 release date
Following the Summertime Odyssey update, Genshin Impact 3.0 is a huge addition to the game. Titled “The Morn Thousand Roses”, this update adds a large selection of new content to chew through.
The new update, which will be released on August 24, will add the fourth nation to the game: Sumeru. In addition, the last of the seven elements comes into play: Dendro. Essentially they are plants.
The Sumeru region is located just west of Liyue. This is where the new character of Collei comes from. In its diverse biomes, you can explore a dense rainforest and an arid desert.
Plus, a handful of new characters are joining the fray. Three new characters are coming to the gacha system, including Tighnari, Collei, and Dori. Will the gacha gods be kind to you?
Quality of Life Improvements
In addition to the addition of a huge new area and its accompanying quests, there are also smaller updates. For example, Genshin Impact 3.0 adds new items to reduce the boredom of some activities.
The Elderberry Tree makes collecting wood earlier. An Ultra-Hot Burner Lamp (Test Model) improves cooking. Finally, the fishing line stabilizer helps you to catch fish!
Since new competitors appear quite often, Genshin’s updates are more important than ever. While it doesn’t look like games like Tower of Fantasy will catch up with Genshin, it’s nice to stir up the competition.
Even after two years, Genshin’s update cycle is still going well. Compared to other free-to-play games, miHoYo’s Breath of the Wild clone is updated very regularly. (As a Halo Infinite player, I’m very jealous.)
