Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is already closing

Square Enix’ ambitious battle royale game Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier was a decent free-to-play mobile game. Nevertheless, the battle royale title is already shutting down on Android after less than a year of service.
Goodbye Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier
Revealed on the game’s official website, Square Enix revealed that it will not keep the game running. While the game is still running for the rest of this year, fans will soon have to say goodbye.
Squenix has revealed that the service for Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier will end on January 11, 2023. You have until 07:00 UTC that day to accomplish everything you want to do in the Battle Royale title.
“Despite all our efforts to bring you regular updates with new and exciting content, we have failed to deliver the experience we hoped for and that you all deserve,” the developer said. “So we have made the extremely difficult decision to end service for FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER.”
However, the Battle Royale title is in a strange state. Not only has the game just launched its new Season 4 update, but there will be more updates until the game’s close.

More content to come
For some reason, Square Enix is not canceling the development of new content for the Battle Royale game. Instead, there are still consistent updates until the game’s close in January.
“While it will be just under 3 months before the service ends, we will continue to make updates during this time,” the announcement reads. “So we hope you continue to enjoy FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER until the end.”
The Final Soldier was an integral part of Square Enix’ massive FF7 mobile push. However, it was far from the most exciting project in the company’s mobile lineup.
Instead, most eyes are on Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, a remake of every FF7 story. As a mobile exclusive, this could be a fantastic game for us Droidgamers.
