Canned World of Warcraft Mobile Has Resurrected in Blizzard

Blizzard’s canceled World of Warcraft Mobile deaths can be resurrected. After canning the project with development partner NetEase, the mobile MMO can be developed in-house instead.
After the backlash from Diablo Immortal, NetEase’s mobile WoW port was canceled. With Blizzard now in charge of the off-project, will it be okay?
Is World of Warcraft Mobile Coming?
Posted reddit, Blizzard is still working on some form of a World of Warcraft Mobile game. Previously, Blizzard mobile games were handled by third-party developers, but this new project will be handled by the studio.
A number of vacancies at Vlizzard show that there is still a Warcraft game in development for phones. One vacancy calls for a Principal Pipeline Technical Artist, the other for a Principal Character Concept Artist.
“Blizzard is looking for a highly motivated and talented Character Concept Artist to participate in a new Warcraft mobile project,” reads the latest job description.
Not sure if this project still has the same title NetEase was working on. That title would be a WoW Mobile game that was developed independently of the main version. This would entail completely different content, while still set in Azeroth and keeping the MMO style.
With Blizzard now at the helm, this title could be more in line with the original MMO. Unfortunately, it may not be the straight gate we all want, but it can still be fun.

It could be something else
Of course, the existence of a Warcraft game on mobile doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a WoW game. However, with years of development in the previous project, it is possible that this is the canned MMO.
Nevertheless, a new title could be in development at Blizzard. But knowing that studio, it will be years before we see a release on any platform.
