Gone are the days when fans of classic arcade fighters with thick wings were poorly served in the Play Store. Mainly thanks to the ACA NeoGeo library and the fact that it keeps putting out polished versions of esoteric brawlers from the 90s.
This week’s addition to said library is Art of Fighting 3. It first came out in 1996, which is quite a long time ago. Or at all not so long ago on a cosmic scale, where human concepts of time are essentially meaningless. So yes.
The game is sort of a side story of the other AoF games, acting as a prequel to the Fatal Fury games, if you’re already interested in the overarching story of SNK’s punch-kickers. But it also introduced some interesting new mechanics to the series.
Is that an art form? don’t know
Chief among these is the Ultimate KO system, which we assume can take people out even more than you normally would. There’s also the usual array of ACA NeoGeo tweaks and pokes to make the whole thing play better on modern devices.
If you want to give Art of Fighting 3 a try, you can click here to download it from the Play Store. It’s a premium game and it will cost you $3.99 to try. sick.
