Age of Empires Mobile Revealed; will be a real RTS this time

Microsoft wants this generation of mobile gaming, and Age of Empires Mobile may be part of that plan. With the company looking to launch an Xbox Game Store for mobile, the company is ramping up its mobile output.
Revealed as part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Age of Empires Mobile is an intriguing new title. Will it be another Clash of Clans ripoff? Or will it be a real RTS?
What is Age of Empires Mobile?
Age of Empires Mobile, revealed in a short trailer, is currently a mystery. The new title aims to be another RTS in the long-running series; but will it be a real game or will it be another free-to-play disaster?
In the past, Microsoft has released a number of AoE games on mobile. For example, 2015’s Age of Empires: Castle Siege was a weak tower defense game. However, Age of Empires: World Domination was an RTS that lasted only a year.
With Microsoft looking to expand the Age of Empires franchise again into a more traditional RTS, this gives us more hope for this spin-off. Hopefully this will be a true AoE experience on mobile. If not, we hope it will be okay.
AoE Mobile has been called the best portable adaptation of the series to date. With Microsoft finally daring to port the series to non-traditional RTS platforms like Xbox consoles, we have a lot of hope in this announcement.

When will it be released?
There is currently no concrete release date for AoE Mobile, as much as we would like one. While we’d love to see the game launch on phones as soon as possible, it looks like the title will be released sometime in 2023.
As it stands, Microsoft has only given a vague “coming soon” release date for the game. Available soon? Not coming soon enough!
